Voice Commands
Thinking Home can obey your voice commands to operate your devices. In order to “listen,” it must be running or the 24/7 option must be selected in the Preferences window.
Setting it up is easy. Apple’s PlainTalk Speech Recognition is built in to MacOS X. The only thing you have to do is select the Respond to Voice Commands checkbox in the Speech Preferences window.
When Thinking Home is listening, the Speech Commands window displays the format of the speech commands and examples of each.
The format of the voice commands is:
(Action) (Device name)
For Action you can say “Turn on”, “Turn off”, “Dim” or “Brighten”.
The Device Name is the name of the device shown in the Installed Hardware window.
Examples of Voice Commands
